Dear Parents:
Welcome to a new year at The Hebrew Academy! We are having some very exciting events happening at The Hebrew Academy, which have been sponsored by our PTA, and we wanted to make sure that nobody misses out on the opportunity to participate. We hope you will join us to make this year a success!
Here is a list of the fun activities:
- Annual Family Dinner: Mark your calendars for the Annual Family Dinner on Sunday, November 4, 2012. Delicious food will be served in the Shul of The Hebrew Academy and fun entertainment will be provided for the children. Sign up deadline is Tuesday, October 16th. The cost for this wonderful event is $25.00 for the whole family! We are looking for services or goods that we can raffle off. Please contact Rose Baum at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
- Rosh Chodesh Treats: As in the past, your children will be enjoying a Rosh Chodesh treat every month. Rosh Chodesh treats might be a treat or a craft project based on the theme of the month. This year we are welcoming sponsorships for the Rosh Chodesh treats. Pick a month and celebrate a birthday, special occasion or memorialize a yahrzeit by sponsoring the Rosh Chodesh treat. You can make a small sponsorship for your child’s class of $18 or for the full school for $100. If you are interested, please let Mrs. Perline or Mrs. Vaspol know which month and the reason for your sponsorship. We thank you in advance for your generosity!
- Kidstuff Coupon Book: Be on the lookout for the Kidstuff coupon book. As in the past, we are selling these books that are full of great coupons for children’s and adult stores, Shop-Rite, and amusement parks . This is a great fundraiser for our school and you can benefit from lots of $aving$!
- BoxTops: Please don’t forget to send in your BoxTops. The school can redeem the boxtops for great school supplies. BoxTops are found on many of the products around your house!
- Class Parents: Mrs. Perline is looking for class parents. Please let her know if you are interested. Some of the responsibilities as a class parent are: coordinating Chanukah and end-of-year gifts for the teachers; attending PTA meetings; volunteering and assisting at school on an as needed basis. We know everyone has a busy schedule, and we work together to try to make this responsibility fun instead of a burden. If you are interested, kindly speak to Mrs. Perline.
Your Help Is Needed:
We are looking for parents who would like to get more involved! Please let us know if you are interested in helping with any of the following items:
- PTA correspondent – Someone willing to send out communications to the school body
- Helping with the Family Dinner: i.e. obtaining raffle items, set-up, clean-up on the day of the eventMishloach Manot – Preparing and assembling gifts
- Kol Isha Choir Program – We are looking to put together a new program this spring for women only.
- Coffee and Conversation (Discussions of topics pertaining to raising children) – Purchasing the refreshments, helping with set up, and publicizing to outside preschool parents.
PTA Dues:
Last but not least, please do not forget to send in your PTA dues. These dues enable the PTA to provide amazing programs for our children!
For further details regarding any of the above, you may contact Mrs. Vaspol, Mrs. Perline, Rose Baum or Bella Wasserman. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rose Baum and Bella Wasserman
PTA Co-Presidents
We will be holding our first PTA meeting this Tuesday evening August 7th at 7:30pm at The Hebrew Academy, 315 North Main Street, New City. Apologies for the late notice. Please RSVP if you can attend. We realize it is the summer and school is not forthright in all of our minds but the beginning of the school year and all the holidays make it difficult to have a meeting at that time.
If you are interested in making a difference for our children this upcoming school year,
we urge parents to come out and help us prepare for the new year. Thank you so much!
If you cannot attend but would like to convey a message, please send us an email with an idea, thought, or offering to help.
Rose P. Baum
PTA President
