Dear Parents: The Hebrew Academy will be having an exciting activity on Thursday, February 12, 2015. We will be celebrating a school-wide "Read-In". A "Read-In" is a wonderful activity to promote the love of reading. A portion of the afternoon will be set aside for the students to participate in this wonderful event. The students are encouraged to bring in their favorite book or books to read. Your child can read individually or share a book with a friend. A cozy environment will be created in our classrooms. Your child will be allowed to bring in a pillow to relax on while they are reading. This activity is fun, as well as educational. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 634-0951. To our knowledge, we are the only school in Rockland, and possibly in North Jersey as well (at least the Jewish schools) that has a true 1:1 (one iPad to one student) in all elementary and middle school grades. It was so exciting to watch the students enthusiastically accept the iPads and get right to work. I personally visited many classrooms and was very happy to see students using the iPads to enhance their learning in meaningful ways that can only be achieved with a 1:1 program. Please…
