Dear Parents,
Would you like to help your child and his/her class at the same time? Here's your opportunity! We are in need of Class Parents. Thank you to Mrs. Silverman and Mrs. Storch of the Kindergarten and PreK classes respectively for volunteering to be Class Parents.
What's involved?
Class Parent Responsibilities:
Each class has at least one class parent. The class parent serves as a liaison between the classroom teachers and the parents. The responsibilities include:
- Assisting your grade-level teacher. This may include volunteering for or finding volunteers for field trips, planning and arranging school social events (i.e. year-end picnic, etc.)
- Supporting school events, such as the Purim Baskets, etc. by volunteering or finding volunteers from your class.
- Assist with implementing teacher's token of appreciation and teacher's gift (as appropriate).
- Attend PTA meetings

With Chanukah approaching, we would like to encourage you to be givers too. We are collecting toys for children in need. Please send toys to the school office in their original packaging.
The Toy Drive begins tomorrow, Thursday, November 21, 2013.

On Tuesday, November 26, 2013 Parent Teacher Conferences will be held for Grades Toddler, Nursery, Pre-K, 5th to 8th.

Dear Parents:
Your son will be taking the ReadiStep 8th Grade/High School Placement Exam on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. This exam encompasses Language Arts and math.
The Judaic Studies Exam will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at a designated location which will be announced at a later date. You will be informed of this information as soon as we have been notified.
There is a $15.00 fee which covers materials and scores. Please make the check payable to The Hebrew Academy and submit to the office by Thursday, October 18th. Our school is invoiced for these exams.

Dear Parents:
Picture Day is coming to The Hebrew Academy! Mark your calendars.
This year we have secured the services of Marty Hyman Photography. Picture Day will take place on Monday, October 21st.
For these photos, the students in Kindergarten through 8th grade are to be dressed appropriately. Please make sure that your child comes to school wearing a clean white uniform shirt and a navy blue skirt for the girls and navy blue pants for the boys.
This company does not use a pre-pay system. You will be receiving proofs. There is no obligation to purchase any photos unless you are satisfied with them. You have choices of class, individual portraits and/or sibling photos.

Dalia's family sat Shiva in Israel and has now returned.
May G-d console the family, together with all those that mourn Zion and Jerusalem.

There will be no school for students on Monday, October 14, 2013, Columbus Day. The teachers will be attending an In-Service on that day. School will resume on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the usual time.
