Judaic Studies Teacher, 1st Grade Chumash
The First Grade is rightfully proud of themselves. They are well into the Parsha of Beraishit and are able to translate most words in new p’sukim (sentences) on their own—without being taught! This is because they have been busy acquiring Chumash skills that will establish their learning for a lifetime. They already know how to find over 21 shoroshim (roots of words) in the Chumash text and know the meanings of most common prefixes and suffixes. They recently had a siyum celebrating the completion of the Perek and translated the entire Perek without stopping! Mazal Tov Kitah Alef! Well done!
